Jamaican Burns Night

A carnival of music, poetry and food celebrating the spirit of Robert Burns fused with the colour and spectacle of a Jamaican carnival.

Re-energising the music, poetry and vision of Robert Burns and bringing it into a modern context with a mini-carnival event the evening will feature authentic rhythms and conscious lyrics with the compass firmly pointing towards Jamaica.  Amazingly, at one point in his life Burns had plans to travel and settle on this magical island and for one evening only Celtic Connections bring together two cultures in a unique mash-up of sounds, styles and flavours.
