The Memory Projector: Celebrating Beautiful Journeys
A unique theatre project on the banks of the River Clyde International Theatre Company, Wildworks will undertake a residency resulting in a performance as a part of Merchant City Festival 2009.
The beautiful journey 'memory projector' comes into it's own in Glasgow. Inside the palace of oceanic wonders the human powered memory projector is connected to members of the public and we begin to witness emotional memories and brave journeys.
The 19th and 20th century Diaspora is the starting point of this theatre work in Glasgow. Working closely with local communities and connecting with ex pat. organisations around the world the project will gather stories of local people who left their home in Glasgow to start a new life across the seas.
Music, archive film and domestic footage of departures and homecomings will be the heart of a unique theatrical experience.
