The Homecoming Scottish Cup

The Scottish Cup, awarded to the winners of Scotland's national football competition, is football's oldest national trophy, having been minted in 1885. The first ever Scottish Cup fixture took place on the 18th October 1873, with Kilmarnock beating Renton 2-0. That season, however, it was Queens Park who lifted the cup and enjoyed the distinction of being the first winners.

Scotland has played an integral role in the development of the world's most popular sport and in the 2008/09 season the Scottish Cup will go under the name of the Homecoming Scottish Cup. Whatever your team, this is the season to watch top class cup football in Scotland with Homecoming Scottish Cup games taking place in 2009 from Saturday 10th January until the final on Saturday 30th May.

Round 5: Saturday 7th February 2009
Round 6: Saturday 7th March 2009
Semi-finals: Saturday / Sunday 25th & 26th April 2009
Final: 30th May 2009
