The Big Tent
The Big Tent is Scotland's top Eco Festival, and one of the country's leading family-friendly events. Set by the grounds of Falkland Palace in Fife, the Big Tent is a two day celebration of the work of the environmental movement with a strong focus on cultural heritage, music, crafts and traditional skills.
In 2008 the growing audience was thrilled by local stars King Creosote and the Fence Collective as well as Skye contemporary folk heroes, the Peatbog Faeries.
There's great entertainment with two stages of world and folk music, a dedicated children's zone, a food village serving only an organic and local menu, a fantastic organic beer tent, debates and exhibitions on climate change and social justice, and a body and soul zone to recharge your batteries.
Visit the historic Falkland Palace, historic home of the Stuart Kings. James V died at Falkland Palace on December 14, 1542. His daughter, Mary Queen of Scots was a frequent visitor, enjoying the peace and tranquility of Falkland, away from the politics of Edinburgh.
Experience the best of Scotland, delve into its heritage and discover how Scots are leading the way in the modern day Enlightenment.
