Refugee Week Scotland 2009: Home
Refugee Week Scotland has become a partner event with Homecoming Scotland this year to launch its theme of 'Home'.
Prominent Scots will meet with fascinating and enterprising refugees on May 27th to help launch our exciting programme for 2009. They'll be discussing the idea of home - and sharing anecdotes about what home means to them.
Fancy taking part? You can watch our special video and then tell us what Home means to you on our website: www.refugeeweek.org.uk/scotland
Fuad Warsame, who came to Scotland from Somalia and is now studying to become an engineer, said: "The opportunities in Scotland are for everybody. I like that attitude, it's really unique.
"I believe that in any other country in the world I wouldn't be in the position that I'm in now... Scotland is really special. It will be my home forever."
Refugee Week Scotland runs across the country from June 15-21. For more details go to www.refugeeweek.org.uk/inyourarea/scotland. You can also see what we're up to on Twitter, Facebook and Bebo!
