Famous Scots
Have you ever wondered where your Scottish ancestors come from? What fascinating stories they could tell you if they were here today. ScotlandsPeople Centre is Scotland's new national family history centre which provides access to millions of documents from the 16th century, including birth, death and marriage registers.
Actress Tilda Swinton's amazing ancestry is the focus of the latest exhibition in the ScotlandsPeople Centre until 6 November. From 9 November we race to the finish with Sir Jackie Stewart's genealogy. The exhibitions also show you how to uncover your own Scottish family history.
Exhibition open times: 9:00am - 4:30pm, Monday- Friday. (Exhibition closed 10 & 13 Apr, 4 May, 14 Sep, 25 & 28 Dec)
