Bupa Great Edinburgh Run
The Bupa Great Edinburgh Run takes place on Sunday 3rd May 2009. The event is a mass participation running event for men and women of all running abilities aged 15 years and above. The 10km course takes in some of Edinburgh's most famous landmarks which line the scenic route including Edinburgh Castle, The Scott Monument, The Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament Building. The weekend also includes the Junior and Mini Edinburgh Run encouraging children from 3 - 14 years of age to get involved in this fantastic weekend of running for all the family. All events (excluding the Mini Edinburgh Run) are chip timed which ensures all runners receive an accurate running time.
The event gives you the chance to run in the same race as some of the world's leading elite athletes as they line up at the front of the field. The Bupa Great Edinburgh Run is also televised on Channel five.
Show your colours for Homecoming Scotland!!! When you enter the Bupa Great Edinburgh Run you will be asked which Scottish clan you would like to represent when taking part in the event. After the event a special results section will be supplied revealing the quickest overall Scottish Clan. We are encouraging all runners to run in their clan colours making this a truly Scottish event celebrating Homecoming Scotland in 2009.
