37th Bearsden and Milngavie Highland Games
Traditional Highland Games with a modern twist. This year's chieftan is 'Pop Idol' winner Michelle McManus. Events include Scottish Dancing, Pipe Bands, Caber Tossing, Shot Putt, Hammer Throwing, Haggis Hurling and Traditional Wrestling. Other attractions are 'The Clann' who specialise in Jacobean battle re-enactment and historical artefact, and 'The Clan', Scotland's Premier BMX display stunt team. Also on site are fairground rides and shows, on-site catering and beverages, as well as exhibitors, trade stalls and displays. In addition, for the first time, Bearsden and Milngavie Highland Games will have a Scottish Farmers' Market and 'Gig at the Games' - a live music festival.
