Although primarily known for its rich history and heritage and for its famous battle sites, monuments and castles including Stirling and Doune Castle, the area also includes wide areas of Scotland's finest countryside with forests, mountains, rocky crags and stunning lochs. Often described as the 'brooch that clasps together the Highlands and the Lowlands', it is an expansive and highly diverse area and includes large parts of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
