St Andrew's 'DO' In Pictures
Edinburgh celebrated St Andrew's Day with a lively programme of events this year, including a fun-packed family festival in St Andrew Square Garden. Featuring live music and dance, cookery demonstrations from some of Scotland's top chefs, historical re-enactors, a whole host of interactive activities, as well as face-painters, jugglers and lots more, 11,000 people joined in the fun.
Elsewhere across the city, 3000 people enjoyed the rousing sound of Massed Pipes & Drums, marching up the Royal Mile to play en-masse at Edinburgh Castle's Esplanade. Hundreds more danced the night away to the stomping sounds of Skerryvore and A Whisky Kiss at the St Andrew's DO Ceilidh at The Hub.
The Capital's celebrations ended with a bang on St Andrew's Day itself, with a spectacular fireworks display from Edinburgh Castle.
