The Camanachd Association, the governing body of shinty, is delighted to announce a new agreement with Caledonian Brewery to support the Scotland National side for their forthcoming Senior Shinty/Hurling International against Ireland.
Edinburgh based Caledonian Brewery, Scotland’s largest cask beer producer, will sponsor the Scottish Team for the game on October 31st, with the famous Deuchars IPA brand to appear on the Scottish team’s kit.
Cameron Mather, Commercial and Marketing Manager for Caledonian Brewery, said “Caledonian Brewery and Deuchars IPA are delighted to be an official sponsor of the Scottish Shinty team. The opportunity to support such an iconic Scottish sport in this the year of Homecoming was a natural fit for Scotland’s largest Cask Beer producer, and Deuchars one of Scotland’s biggest beer brands.”
Duncan Cameron, Camanachd Association President, said, “Caledonian Brewery’s support of the National Team is most welcome. Shinty is Scotland’s national sport, so it is fitting that our National Team’s kit will carry a renowned Scottish brand such as Deuchars IPA.”
The Senior Shinty/Hurling International is part of a series of Homecoming Internationals taking place on October 31st at Bught Park, Inverness. An under 21s match takes place at 11.00am and a ladies Shinty/Camogie encounter throws-in at 12.30pm. The senior’s tie, which is being broadcast LIVE on BBC 2 Scotland, will follow at 2.10pm.
The Caledonian Brewery has remained at its original Victorian site in Slateford, Edinburgh since it’s opening in 1869. Its award winning range of beers, including Deuchars IPA and Caledonian 80/- is brewed using high quality malted barley, whole hop flowers and the last direct-fired open coppers in the U.K.
