Iconic Burns (Sat 24 Jan)
A visual tribute to the Bard featuring work by original Scottish artists, performers and designers. This ticketed event takes the audience on a promenade experience revealing iconic sites and sounds and concluding in a spectacular finale.

I, Robert Burns (24-5 Jan)
I, Robert Burns - the first major stage production on the life of Scotland's bard for 50 years - is being presented in Ayr's Gaiety Theatre on January 24-25 as part of the opening celebrations of the Year of the Homecoming and to marke the 250th anniversary of the poet's birth. More....

Burns Wha Hae (Fri 23 Jan – Sun 25 Jan)
Celebrate as Rabbie would in his hame toon! Performance, theatre, live music and family fun. Highlights include Martin Taylor, The Dubliners, ‘I’ Robert Burns, Ayr High Street Party, Whisky Tasting and so much more.

Alloway 1759 (Burns Day Sun 25 Jan)
Go back 250 years and reminisce about the birth of the bard at Burns Cottage, visit A Star is Born exhibition and enjoy a re-enactment of the Tam O’ Shanter ride. Costumed street characters provide a sprinkling of nostalgia throughout.

Burns an’ a’ that Festival (Sat 16 – Sun 24)
A special homecoming year for the Burns an’ a’ that Festival that each year celebrates Scottish life and culture in the heart of Burns’ countryside. This Ayrshire festival has an International profile as well as a high community involvement and is a definite date for the diary.
 
Whole in One (Mon 1 June – Mon 31 August)
A unique exhibition of golfing artefacts and memorabilia in Ayrshire, the home of open golf.

The Open (Thur 16 July – Sun 19 July)
The Open 2009 at Turnberry, one of the most spectacular courses in Britain. An unmissable golf event at this Ayrshire links course.

Giles Insurance Homecoming Raceday (Mon 20 July)

Ayr Flower Show (Fri 7- Mon 9 August)
Scotland’s premier flower show in the beautiful setting of Rozelle estate. This special homecoming show will celebrate the Red Red Rose and so much more.
