Homecoming Scotland 2009:  Local Events in Midlothian

VOGRIE HOMECOMING FESTIVAL - SUNDAY 9th AUGUST

Vogrie Festival is one of Midlothian's biggest Summer events, held in the beautiful surroundings of Vogrie Country Park near Gorebridge.

The main music marquee is the place to be with a wide variety of Scottish musical talent. Headlining the festival and back in the lime light are "Hue and Cry" with their soul inspired melodic pop which saw them top the charts in the 80's with tracks such as "Labour of Love" and "Looking for Linda".

And also taking the festival by storm will be X Factor finalists the MacDonald Brothers. Performing a mix of their old and new songs including a previously unreleased song written by their hero Sir Elton John.

Supporting these acts will be local bands Pure Malt and Fauve.

For the children Mr Giggles, the clown and friends return to entertain in their own memorable fashion. Whilst Gary James and Stone the Crow bring fun, laughter and magic sure to delight children and adults alike.

Come meet Robert the Bruce and his men in their medieval village. Learn about their weapons and armour as re-enacted by the Clanranald Trust.

And the old favourites will be there too; demonstrations, miniature railway, inflatable fun games, fun fair......everything you need to keep the kids and the big kids entertained.

Scottish Ethical Events (SEE) will be providing a fairtrade cafe and bar. This year SEE will also provide a Champagne Bar selling a range of champagne, sparking wine and strawberries.

Entry fees for the festival are frozen:
