The Big Tent 2009: Scotland's Festival of Stewardship
Leukin'back 'n' goin' forrit - the shaping of Scotland's past with a look to the future.
The Big Tent is Scotland's top Eco Festival, and one of the country's leading family-friendly events. Set by the grounds of Falkland Palace in Fife, the Big Tent is a two day celebration of the work of the environmental movement with a strong focus on cultural heritage, music, crafts and traditional skills.

Lammas Fair Inverkeithing
Organised by the Showman's Guild, a three day funfair in the centre of Inverkeithing. Continuing the tradition of a fair in the town going back centuries.

Hat and Ribbon Race
Organised by Inverkeithing Community Council and open to residents of the town only this is probably the oldest remaining street/foot races in Scotland. This spectacle dates back centuries when the Lammas was a farmers' market. On the Friday night, the shepherds would race the length of Hope Street, with the winner receiving a hat and ribbons to present to his love. Races have been organised for children to which all are invited.
8-11 years, boys and girls and 12-15 years, boys and girls. Prizes will be presented.

Auchtermuchty Festival 2009
A ten day music and community event. This popular festival is now in its 29th year with traditional music concerts and ceilidhs, music workshops for all ages, a family fun day, a saturday flea and vegetable market, craft stall, a community procession and outdoor theatre performance.
Live performance is the mainstay of the festival and the grand finale is a huge family dance in teh historic town square. New for 2009 will be the storytelling workshops with a homecoming theme focussing on Fife stories in Scots.

Cowdenbeath Homecoming Flower Show
The 54th annual Cowdenbeath Flower show schedule includes many varied sections suitable for all ages of exhibitors and talents and this year contains several Scottish themed classes.
The challenge for local primary schools and nurseries this year is to have a Scottish theme with the Primary School collages having to depict a Robert Burns poem or song along with a Burns style poem on community safety.
Sure to be something to appeal to everyone!
