Homecoming Scotland 2009

Homecoming Scotland 2009 has now finished.

Inspired by the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns, Homecoming Scotland 2009 extended an invitation to Scotland's people at home and abroad to reconnect with our great country. Throughout the year and across the country, more than 400 events provided a special Homecoming welcome. Thank you for your support.

'Saltando (St Andrews Beach)', by Alba Marco Munoz

What inspired you to take this shot?
Since I came to Scotland my wish was to visit St Andrews, especially the famous beach of the movie Chariots of Fire. Once there, the beach gave us a lot of energy and vitality and all the photos reflect this feeling. There was a strange atmosphere, it was foggy but everything was illuminated and was perfect to make a good photography.

Why are you particularly proud of it?
I like this photography because shows a short instant of happiness and vitality. And sometimes it is not easy to capture this kind of photo as sharply as this.

What does this particular location mean to you?
I love the film Chariots of Fire and it was very special for me to see the place where the most famous scene was filmed.

Alba Marco Munoz comes from Benidorm in Spain but, attracted to Scotland and Scottish culture, moved to Glasgow in November 2008 and has been living there ever since.
